38.22 Some widget colors are not displayed properly. What can I do?

When DVT uses GTK2, it is recommended to use a ClearLooks based OS theme. This will help you avoid most of the issues related to the color theme of DVT.

If using a ClearLooks theme is not possible, you can still manually tune the colors to fix some of the coloring issues.

For example, when:

  • Notifications have a dark background and foreground: Go to Window > Preferences > General > Appearance > Colors and Fonts > DVT > Notifications and select a different color for background.

  • Search boxes have the same background and foreground: Most of the widget colors are based on the OS theme (if you didn't select a dark theme in DVT). You can customize them from Window > Preferences > General > Appearance > Colors and Fonts > DVT > Filter Box.

  • Content Assist has the wrong background: Most of the widget colors are based on the OS theme (if you didn't select a dark theme in DVT). You can customize them from Window > Preferences > General > Appearance > Colors and Fonts > Basic > Content Assist background color.
